We,
the undersigned, partners and participants
in the RIME project, agree that:
All people deserve to be treated with
full respect, both despite their differences
and for their different cultures;
This means that all human rights ought
to be realised for all.
All people deserve access to resources
for their own survival and their flourishing
as a person, a people or a minority
culture.
Conflict can be resolved without violence
and co-operation across national lines
can be developed.
We therefore call on all governments,
local authorities, teachers and NGO
activists to:
- Strive for peaceful conflict-resolution;
- Put in place anti-discrimination
measures in congruence with international
human rights documents;
- To honour their spirit and letter;
- To renounce their violation;
- To contribute to peaceful relationships
and a celebration of cultural difference
and
- To educate for peace, democracy,
human rights and multiculturalism
through a pro-active curriculum and
after-school activities for young
people.
